In true small-town fashion, Gwenn Eyer’s trolley wishes come true

“What a morning!
I’ve had two recent recovery goals: make it to my spot on the street for the rescheduled Independence Day Parade last week, and ride the trolley during the [Jacksonville] Main Street celebration today.
I told my neighbor Lauren [Thomas], who said they’d be downtown and would get me on the trolley. I pictured Glenn [Eyer] standing in line and people tugging and pulling and pushing to get me onto the trolley with a crowd of other riders.
What I did not picture was Lauren calling Marcy [Patterson] and Marcy calling a whole bunch of people and sending Kelly [Jones] with a message to have me invite friends to join me and a firetruck with lights flashing pulling up and the trolley picking me up at Blessings with my neighbors and the mayor on hand for the sendoff! What a day! It was a party! I actually put on make up! Well… Brittany [Henry] put my make up on for me. So many thanks to everyone involved!
I’m sure there will be more pictures later. For now… I need a nap.”
