A little bit of rain didn’t dampen spirits or the horsepower for the 29th annual Downtown Plaza Car Show held on Saturday, June 14 in downtown Jacksonville.
The vehicles started rolling in to the plaza shortly before 8 a.m. and lined both sides of the square. Over 120 vehicles were on display, including a couple of pedal cars and even some small versions used in a Hot Wheels race for kids. Special, hand-crafted trophies were given away by event organizer Morton Ave Misfits in over 20 judged classes. There were door prizes, raffles, food trucks, crafts and more.
Also, Pizza Records entertained those looking to find a place to go inside and eat with a sock hop from the visiting 66 Ramblers. After all the prizes were given away a little after 3 p.m., the cars headed toward Morton Avenue for the cruise portion of the day that ran from 5-9 p.m.
