Organization’s goal is to replace the roof
Along with WJVO/WJIL, AmVets Post 100 held an “AmVets Post 100 Rai$e The Roof Fundraiser” event on Saturday, September 14.
The fundraiser was held to raise money that will go toward replacing the roof at AmVets Post 100, located at 210 E. Court St. in Jacksonville. The day included an auction, food, drinks and fun, shared the group.
The organizers are thrilled to report they made just over $19,000. Once they reach $20,000, a donor will match that amount and construction can begin.
According to amvets.org, “AMVETS (American Veterans) is the nation’s most inclusive Congressionally-chartered veterans service organization, representing the interests of 20 million veterans. AMVETS is open to and fighting for all who honorably served in the United States military, including the Reserve and Guard. With more than 250,000 members nationwide, we are veterans serving veterans.”
