As part of their 105th anniversary celebrations, Bound to Stay Bound Books held an open house the morning of Saturday, June 7 to honor the company’s history, partnerships and future. The event extended into the early afternoon due to the tremendous public turnout of over 525 people.
While waiting for tours, attendees mingled under the tents out on the big, green front lawn at BTSB. Book series-related swag and free books were available in addition to games and children’s activities. In turn, guests enjoyed guided tours of the manufacturing facility, which was staffed especially for the occasion, providing tour-takers with a behind-the-scenes look at employee jobs, processes and specialized machines.
Everyone who went on the tour also received a notebook, bound at Bound to Stay Bound and stamped with their own name on the cover. Every individual’s name was stamped by a BTSB employee who personally assembled individual pieces of metal type to spell out that person’s name. Inside was a welcome and thank you letter as well as a timeline of the bindery’s history. And, as if all that wasn’t enough, BTSB Chairman Robert L. Sibert, signed “Bob S.” at the bottom of the page with the letter.
