The Jacksonville Area Chamber of Commerce is pleased to announce their Chamber Check Program has topped $500,000 in sales. There are over 80 Chamber Members redeeming these gift certificates.
Chamber Checks is part of the plan of work for the Business Division. This program started in the fall of 2008 under the direction of then Division Vice-President Paul White. Paul state, “ We wanted to do something locally that was generated in house without using a national company. The program has been successful due in part to the support of our Chamber Members giving them as Christmas gifts and safety awards.”
There is no expiration date on Chamber Checks and they are great gift ideas for any occasion such as birthdays, anniversaries, holidays, and thank-yous. Current Business Division Vice-President Jim Duncan notes that “many of the purchasers are people who have received a Chamber Check and enjoyed the many options of places to spend them.”
This $500,000 had to be spent in our community at one of the participating businesses. Choices for redemption include dining, jewelry, clothing, gas, flowers, spa treatments, and much more. For an entire list of places to use the gift certificate, you can go to the Chamber website at www.jacksonvilleareachamber.org.
Chamber Checks can be purchased at the Chamber office, 155 West Morton, Monday through Friday from 8:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. For more information, please contact the Chamber at 245-2174.
We thank the Jacksonville Area for thinking of Chamber Checks and shopping locally.
