Essential Acts of Goodness

  • Misty Farris, Passavant Area Hospital laboratory director, listens during a meeting of hospital leaders. At the hospital, all members of a group engaged in a meeting for more than 10 minutes must wear a face mask. This is for the protection of each person in the meeting as face masks help contain respiratory droplets produced when people speak, cough or sneeze.
  • Cara Crain, nurse manager at Passavant Area Hospital, donates blood during a recent employee blood drive at Passavant. Twenty-four units of blood were collected. Those 24 units will help 72 critically-ill patients. Especially impressive were the 15 first-time donors (employees at Passavant) who donated blood that day.
  • Eli Logan from Passavant Hospital participated in a blood drive at Passavant Hospital.
  • Dennis Hayes, long-time manager of the Jacksonville Hardee’s, poses with Passavant Area Hospital Foundation Executive Director Pam Martin. Hardee’s donated 30 breakfast sandwiches to the healthcare workers in Passavant’s Outpatient Clinic, Advanced Wound Healing Center and Pain Management Clinic. Due to visitor restrictions at this time, all donations of food and supplies to Passavant must be prearranged by contacting Martin at Martin.Pam@mhsil.com
  • Local groups of children created messages of love and encouragement for healthcare workers that were displayed at each employee entrance and exit at Passavant Area Hospital. Due to visitor restrictions at this time, all signs of encouragement such as these as well as donations of food and supplies must be prearranged by contacting Pam Martin at Martin.Pam@mhsil.com.
  • Dr. Anthony Griffin, Passavant chief medical officer, left, confers with Passavant President and CEO Dr. Scott Boston following a daily morning safety huddle at the hospital.
