The Davidson twins have a shared interest in helping people

People could argue that twins mean twice the trouble — but for these identical brothers, helping
others has been a key component to their lives.
The Davidson brothers, Eric and Evan, grew up in Meredosia. They are the identical twins of Tim Davidson and Jenny Davidson. “My brother and I did just about everything together growing up,” remarked Evan. “We have always had similar interests.”
“And we still have many of the same interests,” Eric added.

Growing up, the Davidson twins were exposed to the medical profession as members of their family worked as paramedics and emergency medical technicians. Their dad was a paramedic and their mom was an EMT with Meredosia-Bluffs Rescue Squad. Grandpa Bill Vannier was also a paramedic with the same group.
“We were often used as mock patients, like being cut out a wreckage, for EMT training,” stated Eric. “I think that early exposure was a big influence on us choosing a career in nursing.”
Evan made that decision going into his senior year in high school and Eric finalized his decision during the second semester.
They both attended Quincy University and Blessing Rieman College of Nursing and Health Sciences, graduating in 2017. It was during their training at Blessing Hospital that they chose the nursing area they each wanted to pursue.
“I was able to participate in a summer internship in the emergency room (ER) at Blessing. I had some great mentors and knew that was the kind and speed of nursing I was interested in,” Eric added.
Evan commented that he had worked as a CNA for Blessing Hospital while attending nursing school and this gave him the opportunity to work in almost every unit of the hospital. “I took an interest in critical care because of the complexity and challenges that came with that area.”
Upon graduation, Evan started his career at Blessing Hospital on the Intermediate Care Unit, and in 2018, began working at then-Passavant Area Hospital in the intensive care unit. In May 2024, he joined Air Evac Lifeteam as a flight nurse.
Eric has worked as an ER nurse since graduating and is currently employed by Jacksonville Memorial Hospital in their ER department.
“Nursing can be its own unique challenge, knowing that I can positively affect the life of another person is the most rewarding part of this profession,” concluded Evan.

Eric added, “It is rewarding for me to be in the position where I can make a truly positive impact with my daily encounters as a nurse whether being a patient, a patient’s family member or a coworker.”
Eric resides in Jacksonville and will soon marry his fiancée, Mary, also a nurse. Additionally, the household includes a stepdaughter, Devyn; a son, Conrad; and four dogs. When not working, he likes spending time doing outdoor activities.
Evan resides in South Jacksonville with his wife, Megan, and their son, Owen, and also enjoys outdoor activities. He is a volunteer firefighter/paramedic for the South Jacksonville fire department. He volunteers for the Jacksonville/Morgan County Dive Team as well.
