The Jacksonville FFA Chapter is proud to recognize a remarkable group of students for their outstanding achievements in agricultural education, leadership, and career development during the 2025–2026 year.
At the highest levels of recognition, Addie Taylor earned the prestigious StateFFADegree—the highest honor bestowed by the Illinois Association FFA. This distinction recognizes top-tier involvement in Supervised Agricultural Experience (SAE), leadership, and community service, and is awarded to only 2–3% of Illinois FFA members. She will be recognized at the Illinois State FFA Convention in Springfield in June.
Continuing the chapter’s tradition of excellence, Alex Lansaw received the American FFA Degree, the highest honor awarded by the National FFA Organization. Earned by less than 1% of members nationwide, this achievement reflects exceptional dedication to agricultural education, SAE programs, and leadership development. He will be recognized at the National FFA Convention in Indianapolis in October.
Among underclassmen, Brayden Richardson was named Star Greenhand, recognizing his outstanding commitment and initiative as a first-year member.
The Blue Jackets, Gold Standards Award was presented to members who exemplify dignity, leadership, compassion, and a strong work ethic. Honorees include Carsyn Delong (Sophomore) and Abby White (Junior).
The Fortschneider Agriculture Award, named in honor of former Jacksonville High School agriculture teacher Mr. Bill Fortschneider, was awarded to Braden Hutchison for his demonstration of passion to agriculture.
Greenhand Degrees were awarded to first-year members who demonstrated knowledge of FFA history, recited the FFA Creed, and began their SAE projects. Recipients include Brayden Richardson, Kole Law, Kruz Law, Eva Jenkins, Brooke White, Austyn Lakamp, Grayce Chambers, Sophia Tobin, Beckham Oldnettel, Spencer Vedder, Wyatt Conover, John Harper, Emrick Davidsmeyer, Lexi Frost, and Lily Jones.
