Jacksonville Symphony Orchestra concert Sat., Oct 8

  • Bass-baritone Ryan Kuster (far left on stage), a Jacksonville native and graduate of Jacksonville High School, was the guest soloist for the evening. He ended the evening with an encore of “Some Enchanted Evening” from “South Pacific” much to the crowds’ delight.
  • Robert Seufert, retired MacMurray College Professor Emeritus of English and Symphony Society board member, educated the audience on Shakespeare and the classical music from the evening which included “Romeo and Juliet,” “Macbeth,” “A Midsummer Night’s Dream” and Cole Porter’s “Kiss Me Kate,” which is based on “The Taming of the Shrew.”
  • The Jacksonville Symphony Orchestra warmed up on stage at Rammelkamp Chapel before its Saturday, October 8, concert titled, “Celebrate the Bard,” with special guest soloist Ryan Kuster, bass-baritone.
