Power-to-Push : Rolling Down the Mighty Mississippi 2017

  • The Evans family from New York is running the length of the ‘Mighty Mississippi’ this summer in 29 days.   • The Evans met with other Ainsley’s Angels supporters in Community Park around 6 p.m., had refreshments and presented the Evans family with donated supplies to keep the family going, including bottled water (Shaun, the father, goes through many bottles each day on their trek), snacks, toys and more.
  • Rachel Antle, Central Illinois ambassador for Ainsley’s Angels, said they had four local members running with the Evans family throughout the 19-mile run into Jacksonville. The local chapter met them in Arenzville and ran with them to Crazy Horse Campgrounds, where the family stayed for the evening.  She explained to the group that, “this year Simon has decided to run a 5K every five days with his dad and brother.” He ended up running even more that day in Jacksonville.
