The Morgan County Family Violence Council hosted its annual Back to School Bash at Minnie Bar Park on a hot August 9.
Despite the heat, over 200 children were able to come out from 11 a.m.-2 p.m. and receive backpacks filled with school supplies, free haircuts provided by the Matthew 25 mobile hygiene and haircare trailer, and free food provided by Hy-Vee. Attendees could also visit with a number of area service organizations. Kids and parents were able to enjoy a bounce house, music, raffles and a prize drawing as well.
Around two dozen area service organizations provided information and services at the event.
