Progressing into a new year

By Marcy  Patterson

New Year’s Day is a national holiday celebrated on January 1st, the first day of the New Year, following both the Gregorian and the Julian calendars. This New Year’s holiday is often marked by fireworks, parades, and reflection upon the last year while looking ahead to the future’s possibilities. Many people celebrate New Year’s in the company of loved ones, involving traditions meant to bring luck and success in the upcoming year. Our community tends to celebrate with New Year’s Day festivities throughout the town. For me, New Year’s marks a date to celebrate all of the happiness in my life. The Source will continue our operation in our new offices located at 602 E. State Street. We will be adding obituaries and local news to our paper, as well. Often local news is not upbeat, and we understand that; however, in order to provide you all of the information that you need we feel that it is important to add those events. You can look for that change starting January 15th. 2015 will be a remarkable year for our Community! We will continue to work towards the Water Plant that will provide a solid water source protected from the elements for the citizens of Jacksonville. In addition, we will hopefully learn something positive about FutureGen. And since we made a solid vote for A Cent Makes Sense, we can all rest knowing Jacksonville School District 117 will be moving in the right direction. Have a safe and happy New Year!
