Lynn Colburn has joined The Source staff as marketing manager. Colburn’s duties will also include assisting Kyla Hurt with various projects.
Colburn has been a member of the YMCA staff since May 2013, first as aquatics director, and in May 2015, became its marketing director. She will continue her YMCA position, as well as assisting The Source.
Colburn’s background includes a freelance business in marketing/public relations spanning more than 23 years in Jacksonville. Her clients have included the Jacksonville Area Chamber of Commerce, the Rotary Club, ILMO Products Company, Swatch Watch, and MFA, Ltd. marketing and public relations in New York. Prior to freelancing, she worked her way up from assistant account director to director of special events for Dorf & Stanton Public Relations in St. Louis, Missouri and New York, NY (which was acquired by Shandwick Public Relations while she was employed). While at the public relations company, she worked on accounts such as Missouri Travel Federation, Six Flags Over Mid-America, Planters Peanuts, Oreo, Sharp Electronics, the New Zealand Challenge for the America’s Cup, and more.
In addition to working in the area, Colburn has been a volunteer on the Jacksonville Area Convention & Visitors Bureau board of directors, the Jacksonville Symphony Orchestra board of directors, the Jacksonville Area Chamber of Commerce board of directors, and the YMCA board of directors (serving as secretary, vice president and president). She also served on the parent advisory committee for Jacksonville School District 117 for six years, and served on the PTAC at Eisenhower Elementary while her children attended the school.
