She’s certainly moving and shaking. Seven-year-old Lyla Valdez, right, (with friend Luna Hammitt) all dressed up in chef’s attire, was out on the corner of West State and Westminster streets in Jacksonville selling her lemon shake-ups on Thursday, May 29. This summer starts her more advanced, more official business model project; she bought all the supplies herself using money she made last year with her lower-scale powdered lemonade stands, her parents share. Lyla uses real sugar and lemons, additional optional flavoring, ice … all of it — then she muddles! She shared that she was working to earn enough money to buy a TV. Amazingly though, through the power of social media posts and shares, she had a 40” Smart TV sitting next to her pop-up stand at the end of the day, generously donated to the young entrepreneur by the owners of Brain Freezers. Very “cool,” indeed. The business even has an official Facebook page, “Little Lemon Shakers.”
