Jim Aggert enjoys the world-famous namesake “Jimmy Donut” from X’s & O’s Donuts & Bakery.
The story of the Jimmy Donut goes something like this.
Years ago, Aggert wrote and produced radio commercials for WJIL. During meetings with Clint Dobbins at The Donut Shop to discuss advertising, the conversation often turned to donuts — and eventually to creating the perfect one.
Together, they envisioned a donut filled with rich cream, topped with chocolate and caramel drizzle, and finished with a generous coating of pecans. While they quickly agreed on the delicious combination of flavors, choosing the right name proved to be a bigger challenge.
After much discussion, they finally settled on a name that fit perfectly. And that’s how the Jimmy Donut was born.
