Presented by the Jacksonville chapter NAACP and Jacksonville African American History Museum, the 2026 Juneteenth event has held on the square in downtown Jacksonville on Saturday, June 20.
The event was held to celebrate the day of freedom — honoring Juneteenth as “a powerful day of remembrance, resilience, and joy,” according to the organizers.
The free event featured a DJ/music, dancers, vendors, food trucks and more. Representatives of both organizations were present for discussion and reflection as well.
Jacksonville African American History Museum Managing Director Alberta Robinson shared, “It was a great day and we had a great turnout. We hope everyone enjoyed the event and we want to thank all or our supporters.”
Robinson concluded, “We’ll strive to make next year’s event great, as well.”
