14-year-old with local ties graduates with associate degree, stands strong in her faith
Fourteen-year-old Lyric Cadence Lamb has just graduated from Liberty University with her high school diploma and an Associate of Arts degree in interdisciplinary studies.
At age 14, Lamb was the youngest graduate in attendance and walked in ceremony with a GPA of 4.21.
She is excited for what the future holds. Lamb says, “I am praying for what the Lord has for me. For now, I intend to keep reading and learning about subjects in which I am truly interested. I also intend to continue my education by pursuing my Bachelor of Science in political science through Liberty University Online. I would love to have my pilot’s license one day, too.”
Lamb homeschooled and graduated from the eighth grade at 10 years old. Her parents, Jared and Elizabeth (Jones) Lamb, of Schererville, Indiana, desired to challenge her further as well as urge her to pursue an accredited degree. They share, “Liberty University has been an excellent fit for Lyric’s goals. Lyric is considered high IQ with a matching processing speed to Albert Einstein. Lyric enjoys figure skating, violin, piano, reading, art, and is a rostered member of her community orchestra, Lyrical Strings, where she is a section leader. In her church in Dyer, Indiana, Lyric takes part in orchestra and the music program weekly.”
Lyric Lamb would like to thank her parents for so many opportunities. She is ever grateful for her cloud of witnesses in Heaven cheering her on: her grandparents, Pastor Karl and Sheila Jones, previously of Jacksonville, Illinois; and her great-grandparents, Lester and Colleen “Jackie” Utley, also previously of Jacksonville, Illinois.
Lamb credits her talents and gifts to God alone and works hard for what she achieves. Her family is delighted with her Christian faith, her desire to follow Christ and her zeal to be a part of something bigger than herself.
When asked what she wants to tell others, Lamb shares, “I hope everyone seeks Jesus, believes in Him alone for salvation and begins a relationship with Him. I hope people choose to see the world through a biblical lens as I see it and allow the Holy Spirit to transform their lives. The change in our world by the Gospel would be an incredible thing.”
