Students at the Illinois School for the Deaf honored area police officers and firefighters with First Responders Appreciation Day on October 28.
Members from the Jacksonville Fire Department, Jacksonville Police Department, Morgan County Sheriff’s Office, South Jacksonville Police Department and Chapin Police Department were given special treats and goodie bags put together by ISD’s K.I.N.D. (Kids Involved in Nice Deeds) Club. The local first responders visited the ISD campus to pick up treat bags and greet about a dozen students and staff members.
The students were excited to have police officers and firefighters to come meet with them at school.
