The Morton Avenue Misfits continued its tradition of giving back to the Jacksonville community with its annual donation to the Crisis Center Foundation on December 17, 2025, supporting families served through the local shelter.
While best known for hosting the annual spring car show on the downtown square as well as September car show and cruise, the Misfits emphasize that these events are only a small part of their mission. Every dollar raised throughout the year—from cruises, car shows, registrations, merchandise sales and sponsors—is reinvested into the community or used to fund future events. The organization is entirely run by volunteers with no one receiving payment.
For 2025, the group donated $4,500 in gifts to local families through the Crisis Center Foundation, matching the $4,500 donated the previous year. In addition, the Morton Avenue Misfits awarded $4,000 in scholarships to local graduating seniors pursuing careers in the skilled trades.
The organization is currently seeking sponsors for its 2026 car show season. Local business owners interested in supporting the community while gaining exposure at the events, on flyers, in media and on shirts reaching thousands of attendees are encouraged to get involved. According to the Misfits, sponsorship support goes beyond advertising—it directly impacts local families and strengthens the Jacksonville community.
