The 7th annual R.E.D. Ride was held Aug. 29, with a start (“kickstands up”) at 10:30 that morning from The Grainery in Pleasant Plains.
The event is a fundraiser by R.E.D. Ride of Central Illinois, with all proceeds going to help deployed military support groups in the area. Though the ride is predominantly filled with Jeeps and motorcycles, all street legal vehicles are welcome.
This year’s route traveled from one location to the next, with breaks or foods at the designated involved businesses. The ride ended at Twisted Tree Music Hall in Jacksonville — concluding with a live auction, music and more.
R.E.D. Ride of Central Illinois is a nonprofit that was started in 2020. The “R.E.D.” stands for Remembering Everyone Deployed. The group’s mission is to support like-minded groups, specific to soldier mailing groups.
