In addition to the actual concert featuring the “Shagadelics” that took place on Friday, July 24 in downtown Jacksonville, there were a myriad of celebrations for Jacksonville Main Street Executive Director Judy Tighe.
All a surprise to Tighe, the additional festivities were planned to recognize Tighe’s 25 years with Jacksonville Main Street.
She was first astonished by a flash mob comprised of small business owners, supporters and friends that performed a choreographed dance to ABBA’s “Dancing Queen” for her on the lawn in front of the stage.
Beyond that, the celebrations included bouquets of flowers; a fun, disco-themed cake made locally by Holly Cakes Bakery; a large poster displayed to praise Tighe; hugs galore; and signs held up by the concertgoers that read, “Thank you, Judy! 25 years of dedication to Jacksonville Main Street.”
Thank you, Judy Tighe — for your support of the Jacksonville community and for all your efforts via Jacksonville Main Street over the years.
