Lonzerotti’s Italia Restaurant is now open, currently serving from 5 – 9 p.m. Tuesday through Saturday. Lonzerotti’s held an Open House on the Wednesday just prior to their Grand Re-Opening on Friday, June 17. Both the Open House and the Grand Re-Opening gave the opportunity for many anxious for the renewal of one of the local favorite dining options to meet the Whitney family, who now owns and operates the renovated Lonzerotti’s. It was apparent that the family is people-oriented and excited to reinvent the restaurant; it’s visible in their faces. Meet Mr. Frank Whitney, his wife Sue Whitney and their son, John Whitney. Guests Laura Marks and Dean Welch enjoyed the evening (guests.jpg) and other smiled while being served at the bar. A quick view into the completely gutted and redone kitchen shared an extra bit of insight into the gregarious new mindset; a sign simply reads, “I live to cut grout. -John Whitney.” Keep an eye out for Lonzerotti’s to add lunch hours soon. They are on Facebook and may be called at 217-243-7151.
