The formerly designated Be Aware Wellness Fair, which was previously its own annual event, combined with Summerfest to become a new branded event named the “Summer Fun and Wellness Fest.”
This new event was held on Wednesday, June 10 from 4-6 p.m. in Jacksonville’s Community Park.
It was a valuable opportunity for area organizations and businesses to share information about products and services to the community. The event also featured various health and wellness initiatives, screenings, youth services and products.
Additionally, the Summer Fun & Wellness Fest boasted free food, food distribution, a bike rodeo, booster seat giveaways, a performance by the Jacksonville Drumline Institute, “Fitness Fun” activities with Ryne Turke, free rides on the big Eli Ferris wheel, vision and hearing screenings, and more.
The annual event offers such valuable resources for area families — and is a lot of fun for kids!
The rebranded event continues to be presented by a partnership with Jacksonville Area Chamber of Commerce, Jacksonville Memorial Hospital and Mia Ware Foundation — but now welcomes Blue Cross and Blue Shield of Illinois and Central Illinois Food Bank as partners as well.
