City of Jacksonville employee Michelle Thomas-Vogel works early in the morning on Friday, Sept. 4, to beat the hot days. The high was 97 degrees with a heat index of 104 degrees. Thomas-Vogel uses an articulating boom lift to put out American flags on lampposts in the downtown area in preparation of Labor Day on Monday, Sept. 7.
