Karla Henderson celebrates 30 years of membership in local Pilot Club
The role of the Pilot Club is to influence positive change in communities throughout the world. The Jacksonville chapter is no exception to this mission statement. They focus on preparing youth and young adults for serving encouraging brain safety, health, and support of those who care for others.
The pilots (as they call themselves) find their “true course” through their charge to “Do More, Care More, Be More.”
Karla Henderson recently celebrated her 30th year as a pilot by presenting to her club at their monthly meeting. Her membership is sometimes bittersweet, as it was the event she shared with her daughter, Mia Ware. Henderson recounted times at Pilot Club International conferences and thanked her fellow pilots for their years of service to the community and friendship.
Additionally, Diane Farmer, the current president, has spent over 36 years in the club, Sue Morrow has also spent over 30 years.
The Jacksonville Pilot Club hosts the annual Holiday Home Tour plus a salad luncheon; additionally, the club sells cheeseballs during the holiday season. They provide grants to many other organizations.
