Waverly held a National Night Out 2026 on Aug. 4 to honor its local heroes and build community.
The evening kicked off at 4:30 p.m. with an opening ceremony featuring the Waverly American Legion Color Guard and Waverly Mayor Jeff Baines.
With the purpose of fostering positive relationships between the area residents and local law enforcement, the rest of the evening was packed with family-friendly activities and happenings.
The 2026 Waverly NNO event featured bumpy wagon rides; free backyard games; a Waverly School District scavenger hunt; a school supply giveaway; free hot dogs, popcorn and drinks; and live music by Patrick Longmeyer. The night ended with country music chart topper Darryl Worley live in concert.
